Description

We present Château Pavie 1er Grand Cru Classé A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2005, a hedonistic masterpiece from the Perse era, blending 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate’s limestone plateau. This blockbuster vintage captures Pavie’s signature glamour—inky richness and modern intensity—while entering its first plateau of maturity.

Tasting Notes: On the nose, Château Pavie 2005 unfurls with Black Forest cake, boysenberry preserves, prunes and dark chocolate, accented by Indian spices, violets, licorice and green bell pepper from the Cabernet Franc. Espresso, menthol and leather emerge, blending opulence with surprising freshness.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, seamless and explosive, with taut velvety tannins, astounding acidity and a firework of exotic spices on the lingering finish. Tremendous richness meets elegance, promising another 10-15 years of prime drinking and beyond.
