Description

We present Château d’Yquem 2010, an illustrious Sauternes Premier Cru Supérieur from Bordeaux, crafted primarily from Sémillon with a smaller proportion of Sauvignon Blanc grown on the estate’s gravel and clay slopes. In this vintage, Yquem captures its signature balance of purity, richness and precision, shaped by extremely low yields and meticulous selection of botrytised berries.

Tasting Notes: On the nose, Château d’Yquem 2010 opens with an intense yet refined bouquet of pear and stone fruit, honeycomb and candied citrus peel, intertwined with exotic mango, white flowers and a delicate touch of gingerbread, vanilla and caramel. Behind the opulence, a cool, citrus‑driven freshness and subtle mineral notes add lift and definition to the aromatics.

On the palate, the wine is voluptuous yet incredibly poised, wrapping luscious botrytised fruit and orange marmalade in a velvety, seamless texture. A bright spine of acidity and savoury, zesty nuances keeps the sweetness in perfect check, leading to a long, vibrating finish that already fascinates today but promises decades of graceful development in the cellar.
